Norton Motorcycles Appoints Brian Gillen as Chief Technology Officer

Norton Motorcycles, owned by TVS Motor Company, has made headlines recently with its plans to expand its motorcycle lineup. The company has appointed Brian Gillen as its new Chief Technology Officer, who previously served as the R&D director of MV Agusta. Gillen's experience includes the development of groundbreaking models such as the MV Agusta LXP Orioli and the rumored Superveloce 1000. With Norton Motorcycles entering its expansion phase, Gillen will play a crucial role in developing the brand's next-generation models, which are expected to include both electric and internal-combustion options.

Norton Motorcycles has outlined a three-pronged approach to its revitalized business plan: fix, build, and fly. The first step involves addressing issues with the current lineup, followed by expanding the dealership network. This initiative is estimated to take between 24 to 40 months. In addition to expanding its model range, Norton Motorcycles aims for global expansion, requiring compliance with various regulations and safety standards. Dr. Robert Hentschel, CEO of Norton, expresses confidence in Gillen's abilities, citing his expertise in engine and vehicle design, emerging technologies, and connectivity.

Gillen looks forward to working with the team of engineers at Norton Motorcycles to develop premium motorcycles that bear the iconic Norton badge. The company's management is taking significant steps to strengthen its presence and release improved models in the market. Norton currently offers three bikes in the premium segment: Commando 961, V4SV, and V4CR.
